Essay on Attending High School - 587 Words

High School Do you remember your high school days? High school for me has proved to be a learning experience and also a challenge. There are many lessons that can be learned. You can learn more about yourself, who your friends are, what kind of help is offered to you, and what your strengths and your weaknesses are. Attending High School helped build my confidence because my classmates were supportive, my teachers taught me how to study for tests, and the math tutors helped me overcome my fear of math. But my teachers stressed that studying a little bit at a time would be the best way to go about learning the material. Another way they tried to provoke studying would be by telling us to study in a group. This method worked, but the method that I found that helped me the most was by using flash cards. They helped me realize that if you take math one step at a time, it will be a lot easier than trying to learn it all at once. The tutors also made it easier for me by teaching me to relate math to something I enjoy. A simple example would be if you were having problems with percents. And they would tell you to relate it to something like when you go shopping and clothes have a certain discount. It carries the same principle. And this method can help you overcome a fearShow MoreRelatedAttending A University Straight Out Of High School Essay1765 Words   |  8 Pages Attending a four-year university straight out of high school is like having only five seconds to choose an item to live with for the next ten or twenty years.
